Hey, I’m Rachel

I started out as a filmmaker — fresh out of film school, I worked on an independent travel documentary, then spent time with the Fred Hollows Foundation in international aid, seeing life in remote parts of Africa. Those experiences sparked my fascination with people, stories, and how environments shape them.

In 2016, I moved to Byron Bay and immersed myself in the creative small business community while working with the Finders Keepers Art & Design Market. Inspired, I launched my own creative business. Over the years, my photography practice has evolved from weddings to commercial work, all while experimenting with arts and crafts — from paper craft to stop motion — sometimes weaving them into client projects, and sometimes just for my own creative self-care.

These days, I’m based in Brisbane with my partner and two step sons. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me tinkering on a miniature model, wandering local markets, hanging out with my dog Crumpet, or tending to my veggie garden (sometimes successfully).

Photography for me is about heart, attention, and connection. Whether it’s a person, a product, or a creative project, it’s always about capturing the essence and story behind it.
