Women's Phyre Retreat
Set in the Byron hinterland during the height of the bushfires, this retreat was originally created to celebrate fire dancing – but when the land was already burning, the women chose to honour it differently. Silk fans replaced flame, water was called in, and a powerful sisterhood gathered to move, reflect, and reconnect with the elements. Photographing this retreat was like stepping into another world – hazy, surreal, and deeply moving. The images we captured hold a sense of transformation, reverence, and raw feminine power in a time of collective grief and healing.
