Hula is so much more than dance – it’s story, song, and cultural memory passed down through movement. I had the honour of photographing Aloha Hula NSW, a local group sharing traditional Polynesian dance with the Byron community. This session was filled with grace, rhythm, and deep cultural reverence. Capturing their connection to the music, the land, and each other was a total joy – and yes, I’ll definitely be joining a class soon.
